BlackBerry Passport

Designed as a disruptor, the BlackBerry Passport provides users a device that enables them to be more productive by viewing content via a large 1:1 display and creating content via an innovative touch enabled keyboard.

The construction was inspired by the I beam in modernist architecture. Providing structural strength and visual lightness. The technical team also incorporated the metal frame as part of the RF antenna system by breaking the frame with the connector port.

The BlackBerry Passport has a capacitive layer in the keyboard to enable gesture based functionality as well as physical input. New functions include predictive flick to type, rapid scrolling, and
fine cursor control.

A limited edition gold Passport was sold exclusively at Selfridges in London, and online. The device came with a calf leather flip case created in collaboration with luxury leather goods maker Valextra, Italy.

Designed and delivered while serving as Managing Director, Global Head of Industrial Design at BlackBerry.

Winner of Red Dot "The Best of The Best" Award.
